I am looking to sign up and want to rent the vbox before I make a 100% commitment, can I buy the vbox after renting it for a month or two? Also is it $9.95 each to rent?

Yes, you have the option of buying out the VBox that you are renting. The rental option for VBox is $9.95/month and a refundable deposit of $49.95.
Any time when you want to purchase the rented equipment, you can simply pay the difference between the rental deposit ($49.95) and the actual cost of the VBox ($129.95) to own it.
