kw 5262

Hi I am up grading to the 25 down dsl plan and with that a new modem is required.How is the reception on the kw 5262 since it is running on 2.4 only.Would you suggest I buy a duel band wire less router

I personally have that modem... works great.... just don't use the WiFi built in to it as I like you want 5ghz AC. I'm not a big fan of all in one, but for the non-techie, they are a great idea.

Thanks for your help if I do add a wireless router is it hard to configure with the new modem

Very simple... Just put the modem in bridge mode... (info here on how to do this) forum.vmedia.ca/.../24322-how-to-configure-bridging-mode-on-vmedia-modem-use-your-own-router

You will need to setup the router you would like to use with PPPoE info Vmedia supplies you, but with the modem in bridge mode, it should work perfectly.
