SERVICE UPDATE: MARCH 10, 2015 - 4:30 PM

We have confirmed a failure at an upstream transport facility that is affecting service currently. Engineers are on-site and working on a solution to restore service as quickly as possible.

Update 1: 6:30 PM

We are still working to isolate the location of the fibre break. We have dispached extra crews to assist in locating the break. Some customers may only be experiencing degraded service.

We are currently experiencing a network outage related to a fibre break.

The fibre break has been determined to be between Horner and the West Mall. Our fibre crews have been dispatched and will arrive on site shortly. Once they have assessed the damage and determined a course of action we will be able to provide an ETR. An update will follow after we have the assessment of the damage.

UPDATE (9:15 PM): Fiber Crews are still in the process of repairing transport fiber. Hardware is buried beneath snow and repair is taking longer than expected. Crews will work around the clock until service is restored.

UPDATE (12:40 AM): TV Service partially restored. Some OTA stations (CBC, CITY, ABC, CHCH, CTV, OMNI 1+2, Global) now available. Bell Media channels (TSN, Much Music, M3, Bravo, E!, TMN/HBO) coming shortly.

Attached please find a copy of the Cogeco Data Services report related to the incident. We have made changes to our IP transport service arrangements to diversify our connections to make sure there is no single point of fibre provider failure in the future
